Surrounded

SCRIPTURE: 1 Sam. 17; Ps. 9; Matt. 2

1 Samuel 17:29-30 “What is it with you?” replied David. “All I did was ask a question.” Ignoring his brother, he turned to someone else, asked the same question, and got the same answer as before.

OBSERVATIONS: David doesn’t understand the hesitation of those around him. Surrounded by the sounds of a thousand warriors, quaking in their armor–wishing they’d had the strength to stand.

APPLICATION: Don’t mistake the frightened ones around you for the enemy before you.

PRAYER: Help me, Lord, to understand the hesitation of my brothers and sisters to do ministry. Amen.
