SCRIPTURE: Hosea 10-12; Psalm 73; Hebrews 4

Hebrews 4:12-13
God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.

OBSERVATIONS: Scripture promises to keep us honest, to show us our mistakes, and to urge us on to good works and solid faith. This, in spite of all that the world does to cause us to doubt or all that our egos do to rationalize and justify.

APPLICATION: Joey, read this like your life depends on it. Don’t take it lightly or for granted. My words to you are here in this book; learn them so that you can recognize my voice when I speak through other means. Don’t confuse me with your own dreams and desires. Don’t mistake another for me. LISTEN to what you already know to be true, and trust that which agrees with it.

PRAYER: I hear you, God, as you call out to me. Let my eyes be open to your word that your words might be familiar in my ears. For Christ’s sake I ask it, Amen.
