SCRIPTURE: Est. 3-8; Luke 18

Luke 18:39
Those ahead of Jesus told the man to shut up, but he only yelled all the louder, “Son of David! Mercy, have mercy on me!”

OBSERVATIONS: “And we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us we pray. Free us for humble obedience.” Sometimes, we don’t hear the cry of the needy because we spend so much time trying to shut them up or shut them out, as well as shutting our ears.

APPLICATION: Seek those whom God has sent. Not those that have the greatest need. Not those who are easy to help. Not even those who are crying out the loudest. Meet the needs God sends to us, whether I think they deserve to be met or not.

PRAYER: Open the ears of my heart, Lord. I want to hear you in those around me. Amen.
