SCRIPTURE: Amos 1-3; Ps. 80; 2 Tim. 4

2 Tim 4:3-5
You’re going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. They’ll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages. But you—keep your eye on what you’re doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as God’s servant.

APPLICATION: Joey, you have to steel yourself for some hard truths. They won’t be what you want to hear. You won’t be the final authority on whether or not the facts are good or bad. They will be facts, and that’s that. Do a thorough job as God’s servant. Don’t just run after the sounds you like.

PRAYER: Open my ears to the hardest of truths, God. Make my heart yours. Turn my inner voices into your Voice. Through Christ, Amen.
