SCRIPTURE: Is. 25-28; Heb. 13

Isaiah 26:9-12
“Is that so? And who do you think you are to teach us?
Who are you to lord it over us?
We’re not babies in diapers
to be talked down to by such as you—
‘Da, da, da, da,
   blah, blah, blah, blah.
That’s a good little girl,
   that’s a good little boy.'”

11-12But that’s exactly how you will be addressed.
God will speak to this people
In baby talk, one syllable at a time—

OBSERVATIONS: God puts it in really simple terms sometimes. Terms that sound condescending, irritating, and insulting–if we think too highly of ourselves.

APPLICATION: Joey, it’s time to put on your big boy pants and deal with those issues that have been staring you in the face for the last month or so.

PRAYER: God, I’m ready to hear your voice, no matter how  you choose to speak to me. May understanding and wisdom be the order of the day. In Christ’s name, Amen.
