Wonderful

SCRIPTURE: 2 Kings 11-12; 2 Chronicles 24; 1 Timothy 6

1 Timothy 6:11-12
^11-12But you, Timothy, man of God: Run for your life from all this. Pursue a righteous life—a life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy. Run hard and fast in the faith. Seize the eternal life, the life you were called to, the life you so fervently embraced in the presence of so many witnesses.

OBSERVATIONS: A life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy. Another of Paul’s neat lists of attributes.

APPLICATION: Joey, you are closer in age to Paul than Timothy, yet you are still learning the lessons. So too, perhaps, was Paul. Live what you teach, teach what you live. Embrace wonder, the humility of astonishment before the works of God, and steadily pursue God’s will.

PRAYER: God, in awesome wonder, I see the outlines of your plans and the hopes of your people. Instill within me  a fervent desire to work until your will is done. I seek my place in your plan, and no more. May your will be done! In and of Christ I pray, Amen.
