SCRIPTURE: Hosea 6-9; Hebrews 3
Hebrews 3:12-14a
So watch your step, friends. Make sure there’s no evil unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God. For as long as it’s still God’s Today, keep each other on your toes so sin doesn’t slow down your reflexes. If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we’re in this with Christ for the long haul.
OBSERVATIONS: “Keep each other on your toes…” This is the key to successful discipleship. Three are stronger than one. Iron sharpens iron. We must challenge and encourage one another.
APPLICATION: Joey, I want you to increase your accountability. Your discipleship may not be a matter of public record, but it must be a matter of community. Make it happen.
PRAYER: Thank you God, for reminding me that I am stronger in community than apart from it. I will seek out those who are even now being prepared to follow Christ in the midst of community. I pray in his name. Amen.
