SCRIPTURE: 1 Kings 7; 2 Chronicles 4; Psalm 98; Romans 2

When outsiders who have never heard of God’s law follow it more or less by instinct, they confirm its truth by their obedience. They show that God’s law is not something alien, imposed on us from without, but woven into the very fabric of our creation.

Romans 2:14-16 MSG

OBSERVATIONS: The shaping of our lives is what matters; not the endless refinement of the rigorous doctrines of the Church. We mustn’t forget that these doctrines must arise from those realities that are already woven into the very fabric of our creation.

APPLICATION: Joey, the battle between the laws of the denomination and the truth of God’s work within us cannot be fought, won, or lost in solitude. Seek the work of God in the people around you so that you can better discern the work of God within you. Seek the work of God within you so that you can better discern the work of God in the people around you.

PRAYER: God, give us eyes to see and ears to hear the wonders of your working for us, through us, around us, and within us. In Christ’s name I pray. Amen.
