SCRIPTURE: Lev. 26- 27; Acts 23

Leviticus 26:40-42 “On the other hand, if they confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors, their treacherous betrayal, the defiance that set off my defiance that sent them off into enemy lands; if by some chance they soften their hard hearts and make amends for their sin, I’ll remember my covenant with Jacob, I’ll remember my covenant with Isaac, and, yes, I’ll remember my covenant with Abraham. And I’ll remember the land.

OBSERVATIONS: God makes all things new–on God’s own terms. When we go astray and it seems like the world is against us, it is because we have embraced brokenness and chosen the way apart from God. But God loves to see us turn back to him. He loves to see us despise those ways apart, and return to our first and only love.

APPLICATION: As Lent fast approaches, there are so many things that I must turn from. Not all of them classical sins, but so many things that are hindering my discipleship. I renounce them for the sake of my relationship to the One Who Is.

PRAYER: God, see my softened heart. Hear my cry of repentance and draw near to me in my regret for deeds done and those left undone. And may the glory be yours, through Christ, Amen.
