Scripture: Phil. 1-4

Philippians 1:9-11
So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.

Observations: Yesterday, it was “extravagant love.” Fortunately, Paul comes back around in Phillipians and reminds us that more is not always better. Better is better. “Not only love much, but love well, too.” Its the same story of quality time AND quantity time.

Application: Now is a time to refocus on the things that I do for the sake of love. My struggle, probably life-long, is to pick and choose what I do carefully, and to do what I do well. So many interests, so little time. My intentions have to guide me, and God must guide my intentions.

Prayer: God lead me to those things that I should do, and keep me from those things that are for others to do. In Christ, Amen.
