SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 3-4; John 11
John 11:9-11
Jesus replied, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in daylight doesn’t stumble because there’s plenty of light from the sun. Walking at night, he might very well stumble because he can’t see where he’s going.”He said these things, and then announced, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep. I’m going to wake him up.”
OBSERVATIONS: Walking in darkness, confusion, and without vision — knowing what is going on — results in stumbling and failure. Sleeping friends can be awakened.
APPLICATION: Joey, wake up. Look to the light. Remember the vision you’ve been given. Shun the darkness. Stop hitting the snooze button. And while you are at it, nudge your friends. Be sure you are all awake and ready to face the day. Your yawning and stretching are taking too long.
PRAYER: God, awaken me to awaken others. Through Christ I ask it, Amen.
