SCRIPTURE: Is. 25-28; Heb. 13
Isaiah 26:15 But the living you make larger than life.
The more life you give, the more glory you display,
and stretch the borders to accommodate more living!Hebrews 13:13-15 So let’s go outside, where Jesus is, where the action is—not trying to be privileged insiders, but taking our share in the abuse of Jesus. This “insider world” is not our home. We have our eyes peeled for the City about to come. Let’s take our place outside with Jesus, no longer pouring out the sacrificial blood of animals but pouring out sacrificial praises from our lips to God in Jesus’ name.
OBSERVATIONS: God has big plans. Bigger than our minds. Bigger than our houses. Bigger than our church. We’ve got to get out of our minds, houses, and even our church to get to where God is working so hard.
APPLICATION: Outdoor worship? Out into the neighborhoods? Out into the schools? Time to find out who lives next door to the church and stop waiting for them to come to us.
PRAYER: God, kick down my doors. They are locked from the inside, but not to You. There is so much to do outside, and I am so scared of who is waiting on me. Go with me. Go before me. Clean up after me if I manage to screw things up. But don’t let me stay here in the safe and the calm. Send me, God. And may others follow you out the door as we go. In Christ, through Christ, and because of Christ I pray, Amen.
