Psalm 144:15
15 How blessed the people who have all this!
How blessed the people who have God for God!
OBSERVATIONS: God blesses us when we recognize that God is God, and not a genie who grants wishes, or a confidant who loves us enough to listen but not enough to tell us when we’re wrong. God is God. We should place ourselves at His feet or in His lap or put our heads on His shoulder. We should never keep God as a pet, or an affectation, or mere means of categorizing us socially.
APPLICATION: Joey, worship God as your God and not as your team’s mascot or your buddy. God is bigger than that, and doesn’t bless the crap relationship that comes as a result of your lip-serving disobedience.
PRAYER: Forgive me, God, for treating you as less-than. May my words and actions proclaim you as greater-than, every time. Amen.
