Check this out:

Anthony Warren fired three rounds at the house where Kai Leigh Harriott was sitting on a porch. One of the bullets hit Kai – then 3 years old – as she sat on a third-floor porch with an older sister. The bullet shattered her spine, permanently paralyzing her from the chest down.

Cameras were rolling as she took the stand–now five years old– to speak her mind and share her testimony.

The Apology

Here’s what happened:

At first, she broke down, crying harder than she ever had since the night nearly three years ago when Anthony Warren fired three rounds at the house where she was sitting on a porch.

After a sip of water and some consoling from her mother, Kai spoke.

“What you done to me was wrong,” she said to the man seated just 10 feet away. “But I still forgive him.”

Yes, she’s five. Maybe she doesn’t have a grasp of what has been taken from her. Perhaps she hasn’t yet realized the gravity and severity of all that this man has done to her.

But she is showing the rest of us that forgiveness is power. Kai Leigh is taking back her life before anger and vengeance can tear it apart.

I encourage you to think on her words and deeds; ponder your own actions. Most of all, carefully consider the lessons of Christ on forgiveness.

Luke 17:3-4
“Be alert. If you see your friend going wrong, correct him. If he responds, forgive him. Even if it’s personal against you and repeated seven times through the day, and seven times he says, “I’m sorry, I won’t do it again,’ forgive him.”

Its worth thinking about. . .
