“Past, Present & Future” Sight

Scripture: Job 33; 1 Cor. 1-3

1 Corinthians 1:3-6
May all the gifts and benefits that come from God our Father, and the Master, Jesus Christ, be yours.

Every time I think of you—and I think of you often!—I thank God for your lives of free and open access to God, given by Jesus. There’s no end to what has happened in you—it’s beyond speech, beyond knowledge. The evidence of Christ has been clearly verified in your lives.

Observations: Paul is seeing this community for both who they are and who they are becoming and who they will be.

Application: As a pastor/leader and as a disciple, I have a responsibility to those around me to share my vision for them and of them. I have a responsibility for pointing out their gifts and graces and pointing them in the direction of opportunities to use those gifts.

Prayer: God, help me to see–really see–the folks to whom you have sent me. Help me to love them as Paul loved the people of Corinth: For who they have been, who they are now, and who they are becoming. Amen!
