4-18-19 The Transparency of Symbol

God, our Holy Week nears its ending. In celebration of the Last Supper, we have remembered the Table, the Chalice, the Towel, and the Basin. In these symbols, we see Jesus, not just as the one who teaches us to serve, but as the Word of God made real — God’s agape plan for our very lives. Teach us not to venerate these symbols, but to see through it to your loving plan for our lives. We ask it in the name of the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.
