What Next?

SCRIPTURE: Neh. 9-10; Acts 2

Acts 2:37-40
Cut to the quick, those who were there listening asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers! Brothers! So now what do we do?”

Peter said, “Change your life. Turn to God and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, so your sins are forgiven. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is targeted to you and your children, but also to all who are far away—whomever, in fact, our Master God invites.”

He went on in this vein for a long time, urging them over and over, “Get out while you can; get out of this sick and stupid culture!”

OBSERVATION: Change your life. Get rid of the bad and replace it with God’s life, through Christ. What does that entail? Following the leadership of the Holy Spirit, the encouragement and guidance of God.

APPLICATION: Discipleship groups. Now. Hurry. 🙂

PRAYER: God, I submit to your will that we live differently. I claim the power of Christ, which goes beyond listing, but certainly included the ability to gather men and women together for the purpose of community, life-change, accountability, and reception of the Holy Spirit.
