SCRIPTURE: 2 Samuel 19-20; Psalm 55; Matthew 28

“There’s an old saying in these parts: ‘If it’s answers you want, come to Abel and get it straight.’ We’re a peaceful people here, and reliable. And here you are, trying to tear down one of Israel’s mother cities. Why would you want to mess with God’s legacy like that?”

2 Samuel 20:18-19 MSG

OBSERVATIONS: There are actually some places in the world where people take pride in telling the truth. And there are folks who still take umbrage when gossips and do-gooders ruin reputation and create division.

APPLICATION: Joey, trust the folks around you to take pride in the truth. Greet them eagerly when they ask questions and fill them with knowledge as the Spirit leads.

PRAYER: God, stop up the pitchers when they pour brackish water. Let flow the waters of truth that your name might be glorified. I ask in the name of the Way, the Truth, and Life — your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
